Custom-made
trip to Indochina |

Two
years ago we travelled to Tanzania
with Ambulo and we wanted to repeat
the experience in South East Asia.
We visited Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand.
This time it was our honeymoon, so
we put Alex under more pressure to
find the best hotels and flights at
the best price, and.....it was successfully
done! The trip organisation was a
huge success (flights, hotels, guides…etc.)
As always they suggested the best
way to book tickets as well as the
best itinerary based on the number
of days we had available. They recommended
things we shouldn't miss (temples
of Angkor Wat, Ha Long Bay, Hue...)
It was a wonderful experience and
we enjoyed the scenery, culture and
people of South East Asia. We owe
a lot to Alex for all his effort and
help that he gave us in organising
the trip. Without a doubt we will
count on Ambulo for our next trip. |

Custom-made
trip to Indochina & Australia |

This
was our honeymoon and we wanted it
to be special. Above all, we wanted
to custom design our trip and didn't
want to travel in a group. We wanted
to be able to decide how many days
we were going to spend in each place
and, after careful planning, which
hotels we wanted to stay at Ambulo
made it all easy, by being flexible
and finding the right number of days,
the best flight combinations and recommending
different hotels, and at the same
time fitting it into our budget. They
recommended what to see, restaurants,
and other activities, which ended
up being very useful, especially in
Sydney, where we had more free time.
The logistics had to be very well
organised as we were going to stay
at 6 different hotels in just 3 weeks.
Flights, connections, transfers, everything
had to fit together perfectly. We
didn't have to worry about a thing,
just enjoy the trip we had organised
together with Ambulo. Unique!! |

Custom-made
trip to Vietnam & Cambodia |

Ambulo
was originally our second choice.
We had a trip set up with another
agency, but had to cancel it due to
booking problems. We were 10 days
away from our holidays with no trip.
We got hold of Alex and from the first
moment everything went smoothly. Our
doubts and questions were quickly
answered and his recommendations were
spot on. The best was having a Spanish
speaking guide just for us. 100% recommendable.
We are already thinking our next trip
with Ambulo. Oh, I almost forgot,
the trip was to Vietnam and Cambodia,
and I would go back in a shot. |

Custom-made
trip to Borneo, Australia & Cambodia |

Flexibility,
a wide range of experience and personalised.
These are the three characteristics
that I would highlight of my relationship
with Ambulo. I had been thinking about
a trip to Australia for a number of
years. As soon as I finally got enough
time to fulfil one of my dreams, I
was on top of it. I got in touch with
Alex based on the great references
I had from friends who had organised
their trips through him. I can honestly
say that my expectations were exceeded.
What was originally going to be a
trip to Australia, ended up including
Cambodia and Borneo (highly recommendable):
35 days, 3 completely different countries,
about 15 flights and all custom-made
and without any hiccoughs. Alex adapted
perfectly to our budget and recommended
places not found in any standard trips.
We are anxious to start planning our
next trip and, without a doubt, we
will put ourselves in Ambulo’s
hands. |

Custom-made
trip to Myanmar |

I
have known Alex for a number of years
and I have already organised 4 trips
with him. So, I knew what to expect
when I contacted him for my holidays.
This year I decided to travel alone,
so I had to think twice about the
destination and type of trip. As always,
Alex advised me really well and helped
a lot. I decided to travel to Myanmar
and Cambodia and so as not to travel
alone, I joined a group that worked
out fine with a great bunch of people.
I cannot recommend
Myanmar enough. It has a wonderful
culture and traditions. Even though
it is a poor country, its people are
always smiling, something that never
ceases to amaze me. Buddhist by religion,
with millions of statues of Buddha
all over the country, I have never
seen anything like it in all of Asia.
Burmese have to become monks at least
twice in their life. As a result,
you see lots of monks, from little
boys (like the ones in the photo)
to adults and all of them live from
donations.
It’s a very
green country, lots of dense woods,
lots of water (and humidity!), lakes,
rivers... really beautiful!!! When
I got to Cambodia, the faces were
different changed. Cambodians are
more serious, but the ruins at Angkor
Wat are spectacular. 55 square km.
full of temples (more than 250) some
from the 8th century, and "discovered"
a relatively short time ago. Some
are in a great state of preservation.
I recommend climbing the Kbal Spean
mountain where the river bed has carved
its way through the rock. Although
you cannot stray from the path (there
is a risk of land mines), the trek
is worth it.
In general, the
trip was fantastic. I met some wonderful
people and I have brought back contacts
from both countries. I have seen some
wonderful things, eaten typical dishes
such as worms, crickets and spider
soup. Once again I would like to thank
Alex for helping me ensure everything
turned out so well.

Custom-made
trip to India |

Gonzalez & Javier Cortacero

We
had wanted to go to India for some
time. We had looked at a number of
options, but Alex's was the best combination:
cities you have to visit, interesting
stops on the way, a 4x4 just for us,
charming hotels... That's what the
trip was all about: lovely villages
where we were the only tourists, nights
at Maharajas’ residences, palaces,
temples, children, holy men... Each
day we thought we had reached the
highlight of the trip but each new
day India surprised us. The trip was
perfectly organised, the hotels great.
This combination was so well done
that, as we said before, each new
day outshone the previous one. Varanasi
was the ultimate surprise.
As you can see, practically
a perfect trip... and it wasn't the
first we had done. Now we need ideas
for summer 2007.

Custom-made
trip to Indochina |

Fernandez & Sergio Alonso

We
met Alex through a recommendation
from good friends of ours. He had
organised their honeymoon and we soon
saw that Ambulo was exactly what we
were looking for. We could arrange
and modify all the details of the
trip and be just two people on a package
tour.
We spent 3 unforgettable
weeks in Indochina. The frenetic pace
in Bangkok and its particular smells,
the life of the ethnic minorities
along the Mekong in northern Thailand,
the peaceful streets of Luang Prabang
with profoundly religious undertones,
the impressive temples of Angkor Wat
in the Cambodian jungle, the architectural
mix in Hoi An and its colourful market,
the mausoleums and forbidden city
of Hue, the hordes of motorbike riders
in Hanoi - and its chaotic traffic
- the postcard sunsets on Ha Long
Bay. Three intense weeks, which we
took advantage of to the fullest thanks
to great organisation.
Choosing the photograph
was as difficult as summarising our
experience in a few lines. I hope
we have the same problem next year!
